MONTHLY NEWSLETTER- OCTOBER 2026
Message from Our Sisterhood President
Dear Friends,
September flew by in the blink of an eye! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made our High Holidays so meaningful and vibrant.
A special shout-out goes to our dynamic VP of Catering duo, Vikki Silvis and Lynda Markowitz, whose delicious "Break the Fast" hit the spot after a long day of reflection. We also appreciate everyone’s grace and good humor when Sushi in the Sukkah had to pivot on the fly (let’s just say I’m getting a jump start on next year's forgiveness cycle!). Huge thanks to Lynda and Jeff Markowitz alongside Bill Miller for stepping up to make our Sip & Savor an absolute delight.
October is packed with fantastic programming—and remember, membership definitely has its privileges, so keep an eye out for upcoming events!
As we conclude Sukkot and prepare for Simchat Torah, I hope you find joy in celebrating with family and friends. Rabbi Sacks often observed that Simchat Torah is truly unique: it is the only major Jewish festival born not from direct biblical decree, but entirely from the grassroots spirit of our community in the early Middle Ages. In the face of centuries marked by trial and exile, the Jewish people didn’t institute another day of sorrow—they created an occasion of unbridled, unapologetic joy anchored in the Torah.
As we unroll the scroll to start anew, may we carry that same spirit forward:
Dance like nobody’s watching
Love like you’ve never been hurt
Sing like nobody’s listening
Live like it heaven on earth
Chag Sameach and warm regards,
Rhonda
