MONTHLY NEWSLETTER- APRIL 2025
Message from Our Sisterhood President
On April 26th the Reading of the Names will begin it's 24-hour vigil. Sisterhood has been asked to light a candle in memory of all the women who perished. Please come and be a part of this opportunity and join all Sisterhood members for this honor. The event will begin right after Havdalah. Unfortunately, I will be there attending the Intra-Continental conference.
Speaking of the conference, April 1st is the deadline to register for the conference at the low price of $250. This covers the cost of the conference and does not cover the cost of hotel or airfare. If you are interested, please reach out and we can discuss how Sisterhood can help to reduce the costs.
As we start to wind down this year, we are already looking to next year's calendar. Please reach out if you have ideas for new programs or events. Want to serve on the board? Let's talk!
Save the date – May 15th - our end of year board meeting and elections. We’ll keep our tradition of a potluck dinner at my house. All are welcome. More details to come.
As we approach Passover this year, I wish you and your families a joyous and meaningful celebration. However, I know that joy is tempered by the sadness and unease stemming from the ongoing conflict, and the plight of the hostages. This holiday, which celebrates our liberation, reminds us that others are still denied their freedom. I encourage you to set a place at your Seder table, even a single place setting, to symbolize all those who are not free to celebrate. It's a small gesture, but a powerful reminder that we hold them in our hearts and yearn for their release. May this Passover bring us closer to a world where freedom is a reality for all.
Chag Pesach Sameach!

“Women can be heroes.” When 20-year-old nursing student Frankie McGrath hears these words, she joins the Army Nurse Corps following her brother who has shipped out to fight in Vietnam. Overwhelmed by the chaos and destruction she meets, the real battle for Frankie and her veteran friends lies in coming home to a changed and divided America, to angry protesters, and to a country that wants to forget Vietnam.
Sisterhood selected a new Tikkun Olam/Social Action project to support this year.
The Suitcase Project assists disadvantaged women, children and families impacted by abuse & trafficking in their transition to safer and independent lives.
