MONTHLY NEWSLETTER- JANUARY 2025
Message from Our Sisterhood President
Happy Chanukah and Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025 and the second half of our calendar year. There is a lot happening in the next couple of months.
The year starts with Rosh Chodesh on January 2nd with another Rosh Chodesh at the end of the month on January 30th. Please let Karen know that you can attend.
I encourage everyone to support all the great activities happening this month.
Starting with the Men’s Club “Family Feud” night. A night not to be missed!
On January 12th is Leynor Family Mitzvah Day. I’m sure there are projects that could use your help.
On a personal note. Please join me and my family on January 19th at 10AM as we learn about a painting that belonged to my grandmother, at the 3rd Annual Judaica Roadshow. It will be at the Dallas Biblical Arts Center (across from North Park Mall).
In case you missed this in our December newsletter…
Our Torah Fund campaign is beginning. Please consider making a donation and attending the brunch on February 23, 2025 where we will honor Lynda Markowitz for her dedication to everything CBT! Be on the look out for more information and how to donate and rsvp.
And finally, a program note: The Mind Body and Soul program has been rescheduled to March 2, 2025. Thank you, Sylvia Schepps for taking the lead on this.
B’Shalom,
Rhonda

Told in the first person, Jeannette Wall’s grandmother Lily Casey Smith was helping her father break horses at age six. At 15, she left home to teach in a frontier town---riding 500 miles on her pony, alone, to get the job. She learned to drive a car, fly a plane, survived tornadoes, droughts, floods, the Great Depression, and the most heartbreaking personal tragedy, and bristled at prejudice of all kinds.
Leslie Starke, daughter of Herb and Ellen Schachter, had major surgery in October. Her surgical wounds have not healed properly and are under wound care. She is currently wheelchair-bound and on pain medication. Her family has asked for assistance in providing meals for Leslie, her husband, and their two children.
CBT Cares has set up a Meal Train for Leslie and her family. If you would like to participate, click the button below. Thank you.
